Simplot Sues Over Particular Potato Style

Our local potato giant, J.R. Simplot Co. has filed a federal lawsuit against another potato/fry company McCain Foods, claiming they copied their Sidewinder fries. 

The design, looking more like a potato chip rather than fry were introduced in 2013.  McCain has now launched their own version they call "Twisted Potato."  Simplot Co. says that investment in their facilities and innovation in the design set them apart, and therefore they require protection for their product.
