One of the things I hate about scary movies, other than being too scared to watch them, is the scary music that builds up to something jumping out and scaring me.  But what if you changed one thing about the music, would it be just as dramatic and scary?  You be the judge.

A musician, writer, and filmmaker named Ian Gordon took some classic horror movies and TV themes and reworked them.  He changed one thing. He changed the music from minor into major keys.

The result is pretty interesting, because they sound a LOT less terrifying.  This video gives you examples of how he changed the themes to "The X-Files", "Halloween", "Saw", "The Exorcist", and "A Nightmare on Elm Street".

Take a listen for yourself.  Would it make the movie much less scary?
