Imagine if every high school graduate was sent out into the great unknown armed with the wise words of Sandra Bullock. Now they can, thanks to a video of the Oscar-winning actress giving a commencement speech at Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans. According to The Wrap, Sandra became an advocate for the school in 2005 after it was damage by Hurricane Katrina.

Sandra surprised the class of 2014 during their graduation ceremony on Monday (May 19). Her first piece of advice was inspired by what she would tell her younger self.

"I didn't remember anything because I was so worried about the future, I wasn't present," she said, adding that she would tell herself the same thing she's been telling her four-year-old son, Louis.

".... Stop worrying so much, okay? Stop being scared of the unknown because anything I worried about didn't happen. Other stuff happened, but not what I worried about," she said.

"The second thing was raise the bar higher," she continued, explaining that she remembers the times she pushed herself beyond what she thought she could do and that nothing is a failure. Something better will come along.

One surprising element the actress advocated was cranking music very loudly in the morning.

"The rule is, you have to dance a little bit before you step out in the world because it changes the way you walk," she explained.

And, of course, she added in some tried-and-true words of wisdom: "Eat something green every day with every meal .... Do not pick your nose in public."
