Safety Tips Fore Pets In Cold Weather Credit: Getty Images / Yana Paskova

Well, the snow has arrived in the Treasure Valley and it's time to bring those furry friends indoors. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind when the temperatures drop.

1. Bring them inside! Especially the young and elderly animals. If your pup has short hair, think about a sweater too.

2. Check your car before leaving. When it gets cold, cats like to hide under cars or on top of tires to keep warm, give a honk or bang on the hood to scare them away.

3. If you see strays, or see animals left outside without shelter, call authorities like the Idaho Humane Society, or West Valley Humane Society.
