You might remember back in March, we told you about a program that the City of Boise was starting to help put the homeless to work.  It's worked so well that it's growing.

I was excited to see the update while watching our news partner, KTVB Newschannel 7, sharing the news that the program with Boise Parks and Recreation and the Interfaith Sanctuary was being extended.

The concept was built on providing seasonal spring and summer work, but thanks to a grant from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertsons Family Foundation, the program will continuing.

There are clear results too.  Five of the nine Interfaith residents that started the program are no longer homeless, and the momentum of gaining employment and housing was something those involved in the program hoped wouldn't come to an end.

It's nice to have a uplifting story showing that hand up can make such a difference.  If you would like to hear from those involved themselves, just click below to check out the story from KTVB.
