I was never great at Math. I think I'm not the only one who has felt this way. During my senior year at Timberline High I always asked, am I ever going to really us this?  A new study says yes it is important and it could help students going in to college. According to the Idaho Press Tribune an average of SAT scores in Math and Reading were higher across the country, but most students in Idaho struggled with these subjects. The state may be behind the curve with SAT test scores. Last year Caldwell and Nampa scored a low rate of 16 and 24% of students "College Ready".

High School Seniors wanting to get into a state school or even out of state universality need at least a score of 510 for Math and 480 in Reading and Writing to reach the College Board standard for readiness for those first year of classes away from High School. The study says that if these students who score lower on the scale of math and reading they likelihood of them earning grades that average C's is more than likely. If there was ever any advice I would go back and give my younger self it would be try harder..get a tutor do something to improve. - JD
