It's no secret that I am new to the Treasure Valley, and it has been so much fun exploring and trying out new things. Last night was a new adventure as my wife Savannah and our nephew Colby checked out our very first Boise Hawks Baseball game ever.

The stadium itself is easy to locate and the stadium workers made it very easy to navigate the stadium so we were off to a great start. We got some stellar seats close to the Boise Hawks dugout and on-deck circle so the action was right in front of us. Plus the ticket price was only $13, which is great when you're frugal like I am.

The stadium food offerings were very good as well. You had the normal hot dogs and gourmet sausages, popcorn, nachos and lots of other food selections. My wife said she even saw one stand that was selling Margaritas, now I didn't see that but it's probably good that I didn't because I have to wake up too early for that on a weeknight.

One tip I did learn after cheering on the Hawks for the first time is that I would recommend sitting on the 3rd base side. The reason is so the sun doesn't beat down on you for the first 5 innings like it did for us. Although if your biggest worry is too much sun while watching baseball, I would say that is a fantastic day!
