My Hot And Steamy Birthday Party

Yesterday was my birthday. I was expecting a low key day. My friends and family though, had other plans in mind.

I thought I would be having a quiet day with Ysabel. Lunch at the Matador and then off to The Springs in Idaho City for a day at the hot springs. If you haven't been to The Springs, go! The facilities are gorgeous and the springs are so relaxing! My favorite part, on top of the gorgeous Idaho scenery while soaking, is the pool side service. Nothing says Happy Birthday better than a cold beer at The Springs!

I thought that was the end of my day but Ysabel insisted that we have dinner with another girlfriend at The Grind. When we pulled up I started to worry and asked, "Is this a surprise party?" Then I figured there was no way it could be because Ysabel had no makeup on and her hair was pulled up. We were wearing yoga pants. No way was there a party inside with the way we looked! I walk in, the lights flip on and there is my brother, Mike and everyone in my friend-family! I was so surprised! And so touched. Having a December birthday I know how hard it is for people to take time out of their busy holiday schedules to celebrate. Especially a birthday that is not a milestone. But my friends came out in full force. They made me feel so special. I was overwhelmed. There were so many other things they could be doing like Christmas shopping or going to holiday parties.

My brother and his girlfriend were the masterminds behind this surprise and my brother got my brother-in law involved too.
