It's time once again for one of the most redneck thing that happen in Idaho and it all happens in my old hometown of Nezperce, Idaho. The Combine Demolition Derby, Grain truck races and new this year, the camper pulling contest.

The events kick off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st at the Cecil Hill Arena in Nezperce, Idaho. They will have a Combine Derby, Truck Races and a Camper Pull! Total prize money is $10,000!

The only difference between men and boys is the size and expense of their toys.  Every year i Nezperce holds a combine demolition derby and a NASCAR style old grain truck race.

Grown men fix up and paint old useless or semi-useless combines, then crash them into each other until only one is left standing.

If that isn't enough testosterone for you, they also fix up old grain trucks and race them against each other.  As you can see from the video, every year at least one or two grain trucks end up, on their side or upside down.

And holy cow is this redneck tradition popular.  Nezperce has a population of about 475 people, but on Demolition/Race Day the town swells to around 5,000 people. (Take it from me, that's a lot of beer drinking)

Here are highlights from the grain truck races:

Jeff Foxworthy would be proud.  "You might be a Redneck from Idaho if:  You pay money to watch a bunch of grown men crash combines and grain trucks into each other."

I was asked by the local TV station in Lewiston to do their commercial a couple years ago. Take a look!
