This weekend at the movies features everything from mutants, to pop-stars to tear-jerking romance, as well as one of the strangest and most unique films released this year. Here’s the lowdown on everything hitting theaters this weekend.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows:

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael are back once again as the iconic team, this time facing against Krang as well as the mad scientist Baxter Stockman. This sequel follows the 2014 mega-hit and Will Arnett and Megan Fox reprise their previous roles.

Me Before You:

Fans of The Notebook and other Nicholas Sparks adaptations will likely be lining up for this romantic drama, centered on a young woman forming a bond with a paralyzed man she’s taking care of. Expect to be sniffling and using a lot of Kleenex’s.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping:

The guys behind The Lonely Island are back, this time tackling the ‘mockumentary’ genre. The film focuses on a fictional pop singer named Conner4Real, whose sophomore album does poorly, forcing a popularity crisis upon him and hilarity ensues.

The Lobster:

Opening at The Flicks this week, Yorgos Lanthimos’ latest dark comedy focuses on a world in which single people are forced to find a romantic partner or else they’ll be turned into an animal of their choice. Sounds pretty strange, but those looking for something offbeat and original won’t be disappointed.
