On Thursday, August 10th  Mix 106 will be helping kids all over the Treasure Valley who are food insecure and going hungry with the 5th annual Back Pack Buddy Program to benefit the Idaho Food Bank.

These kids could be someone you know: a neighbor, a friend or even a family member. Most times these kids are able to eat breakfast and lunches at school, but what about on the weekends? Most of the time they are going hungry or are eating less.

We can help and that's why  Mike and Nicole will once again be broadcasting nonstop from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 10th for the Mix 106 cares for Kids, Back Pack program.

You’ve heard us say it over and over.  “But there for the grace of God go any one of us”.  Most of us are all one medical emergency, job loss or family death away from being hungry or needing assistance.  Truly every dollar does count. One out of every six children in Idaho are food insecure. They don't know when or if their next meal is coming and that's where you come in.

Thousands of kids right here in the Treasure Valley go hungry or are food insecure at some point during the year. Some of those kids are probably someone you know or are friends of you kids..or maybe even a family member who is too embarrassed to ask for you help.  This is one small way that we can all come together to make a difference for our community, so please join us this Thursday and be a part of the Mix 106 Cares for Kids Radiothon. In the past four years you have helped directly raise over a quarter of a million dollars, but once again the need is bigger than ever and we've set a high goal for this year and we can't do it without help from you and others like you.

In addition to taking donations we will also have incentives for those who donate during the day and an auction for a car from Team Mazda Subaru....so make sure you follow Mix 106 all day.
