A Meridian teacher at Willow Creek Elementary teacher named Yori Dela Rosa started a food drive at the school four years ago, after she visited a student fighting cancer at St. Luke's Children's Hospital.

She saw the need and wanted to do something about it. She saw that parents and siblings didn’t want to leave their little ones side to grab food and by the time they have a chance to get something, sometimes at 2 or 3 in the morning, the hospital cafeteria is closed. The food drive provided food on the shelves in the kitchen for families who need it.
