Idaho is full of miles and miles of world class white water rafting. I have been down the South Fork of the Boise so many times growing up I can't even count them on my hands and feet. For many who love to raft officials are giving you a warning when you hit the water this summer.

The stretch of the South Fork at Buffalo Creek has been upgraded from a class 3 rapid to an even more dangerous class 5 rapid over the last week. Even for the most experienced rafter taking on world class rapids like this can be hazordus. Earlier this month a 61 year old man lost his life on the rapid. That section of the river is constantly changing due to mud slides and rock deposits after large wildfires in the area.

Beat the summer heat and get out and float the rivers, but use extreme caution when you are doing it. Be safe and play hard. - JD
