Lone Star Middle School in Nampa was recognized as a leader in the future of education during a segment on the PBS show "NOVA".

They use a free online learning software called Khan Academy. Teachers at Lone Star have been using it to motivate their students.

The school was chosen to host the kickoff event for LearnStorm, which is a competition that allows students to earn points as they reach different levels and master skills on the Khan Academy website.
