Kelly Clarkson's Piece By Piece Tour has been busy making the rounds across North America. While the pop diva's powerful pipes are obviously more than well-suited for her repertoire of countless original hit songs ("Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because Of You," "Heartbeat Song," "Stronger" to name a few), there's a certain something special about the way Clarkson puts her own magical spin on a good ol' fashioned cover.

Luckily for us, Kelly makes time during a special segment of her tour, called Fan Request, to cover other artists' song that have been—you guessed it—requested by fans in the audience! Aside from being a brilliant way to bond with her live audience, Fan Request has resulted in some serious slayage from the millennial pop icon and original American Idol winner, Kelly treating the world to incredible live renditions of tracks including Taylor Swift's "Blank Space," Tove Lo's "Habits (Stay High)," and now, Lana Del Rey's "Off To The Races."

Considering Kelly's natural vocal penchant towards big pop jams and power-ballads, the cover—which was performed during Saturday night's stop in glitzy Las Vegas, appropriately—is a surprising selection for sure. After all, the original is a hazy, hip-hop tinged ode to Lolita. Despite this unexpectedness though, Kelly slays her rework of the Born To Die track, giving "Off To The Races" a refresh with big, smokey vocals and a jazzy acoustic arrangement.
