You've probably been there, but some say it's a big waste of time and it's the worst tourist trap in Idaho.  See if you agree.

And we've got some ideas about great Treasure Valley sites to visit too.

Part of the greatness of a tourism destination, is offering so much space and activity that it keeps people interested for at least a half day, and maybe two or three days.

For that reason, The Insider says Craters of the Moon National Monument isn't all it's cracked up to be.  The bloggers agree that it's pretty, but they said "it's only interesting for about 10 minutes. After all, how much time can you spend ogling volcanic rocks?"  Well, not every state is unique enough to have volcanic rocks.  And that's worth at least one Instagram photo.

Where do you take visitors when they come to the Treasure Valley?  There are some obvious spots that get a lot of attention, and some places that might be a little more off the usual path.  What would you add?

Must-Dos for Idaho Tourists:

The Boise River Greenbelt

World Center for Birds of Prey

Old Idaho Penitentiary

Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial

Idaho Botanical Garden

Zoo Boise

Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa

Lucky Peak State Park

Bogus Basin

Hell's Canyon National Recreation Area

Shoshone Indian Ice Caves

The point is, Idaho has plenty of great places to visit that tourists should be checking out besides volcanic rocks.

And maybe a few of us in the Treasure Valley haven't even fully explored these spots yet.  In that case, summer is the perfect time to get going on that task.
