Is a Fake Relationship Better Than No Relationship?

Wow, technology really is the gift that keeps on giving.  Where would we be without computers, cell phones or GPS?  But this new piece of technology seems to be stretching the bounds of good taste

Two new services just launched, called Invisible Boyfriend and Invisible Girlfriend . They both create the most authentic looking FAKE relationship possible for you.

They cost $24.99 per month, which includes up to 100 texts from your fake boyfriend or girlfriend, including responses when you text them back.  Plus you also get up to 10 voice-mails, one handwritten note, and even some photos.

The founders say the texts and calls won't come from a robot.  They've figured out a, quote, "secret sauce" that seems to combine auto responses and real responses from humans to make everything seem as real as possible.

My first question is why would someone sign up?  The founders proposed a few scenarios:  Tricking your Bible belt parents or grandparents so they don't know you're gay  or practicing for how you'd handle a real relationship.  Or maybe even fending off a coworker or some other creeper who 's hitting on you and won’t take no for an answer.
