If you've been on I84 between Eagle Road and 10 Mile recently, part of your trip has taken you past what will soon be Idaho's first Medical School currently under construction.

Idaho has a shortage of doctors and there is hope that this new facility could help answer the need for care givers in the Gem State.

The facility is a 94,000 square-foot addition to the site that already houses the Idaho State University Meridian Health Science Center campus.  This will be the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (nicknamed ICOM), and though the programs are separate, they will be affiliated and share resources.

Construction is already well underway and is running ahead of schedule.  The first students to use the state-of-the-art facility will begin in August 2018.

Admission priority will be given to students from Idaho and our region including Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming).
