Oh boy. A teacher at a Preston, ID junior high school is under investigation after students say they saw him feed a puppy to a snapping turtle after school hours. According to KTVB, Robert Crosland, has been "teaching science [...] for years" at the middle school and "had not been cited or charged and has not been placed on leave," despite school officials say they "became aware of a regrettable circumstance involving some of the biological specimens."

Here's what happened. According to KTVB, on March 7, after students had been dismissed fed the puppy to the turtle. There's no mention on whether or not the puppy was alive at the time. So what's going to happen to this teacher?? Apparently he's pretty popular among students, one former student told KTVB, “I loved his class because he had turtles and snakes and other cool things.” But, of course, the school district needs to complete the investigation in order to determine his fate with the school.

Here's what Superintendent, Marc Gee had to say:

“While the district certainly does not condone individual actions that may violate district policy or reasonable expectations of behavior, we hope that any errors in judgment made by a teacher in this instance will not cause us to forget the years of care, effort and passion the teacher has given to students in Preston School District,”
