Idaho Potato Drop Adds New Layer For New Year’s Eve
Boise's signature New Year's Eve celebration over the last few years has been the Potato Drop, and this year, the festivities will be even more visually impressive.
Organizers say that they are going to be adding light to the potato, now to be called "the glotato." The glow will come from inside the potato that drops to countdown to the start of the new year. The cost of the new "glotato" will be around $120,000. Fundraising is already underway.
