Idaho Named Fastest Growing US State
Our family loves Idaho. Though JD and I followed jobs out of state for a while, we ultimately knew that this was the state we wanted to raise our boys in, so we chose to move back here in 2015. There's something truly special about this state. It's beautiful, for one, with tons of hiking and outdoor activities no matter the season, but it's also full of great people and awesome opportunities - a fact that more and more people are starting to realize.
At the end of 2017, the US Census Bureau determined that Idaho has become the fastest growing state in the US with a 2.2% increase in population from July 2016 to July 2017. Currently Idaho has an estimated population of 1.7 million people, but that could quickly change in the coming years.
Boise itself is growing at a rate of 1.8%, according to Forbes. With low crime rates, low unemployment, and low cost of living, our hidden gem of a city won't be a secret for much longer!
Though California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania remained the most populous states in 2017, there is no denying that people are realizing how wonderful our state is and are moving accordingly.
