Do you have much crime in your neighborhood?  I don't.  We're pretty fortunate to be in one of the safest states in the country.  But should we worry more?

Idaho has one of the lowest violent crime rates in the country, meaning there are very few murders, rapes, and assaults here in the grand scheme of things, compared to the rest of the country.

Idaho is the 7th safest state in the US, and the only other state out West ahead of us is Wyoming at #3.  24/7 Wall Street says the safest state in the country is Vermont, with the lowest rate of violent crime, and Maine, Utah, and Virginia made also made the top 10.

So Moms, do you feel like your kids are safe?  I do, and I'm grateful to live in a place where I feel comfortable letting my three girls play in the front yard, and ride their scooters down the block.  And as a single mom living alone I just forge ahead, and don't waste time worrying that we might encounter someone unscrupulous.

Sometimes I feel bad that I don't worry too much, since it's usually a mother's instinct to worry and wonder about the what ifs!  But I think I've learned to trust that everything will be okay, especially since Idaho keeps making lists of the safest places to be.

Should I worry more?  Do you?
