One Year ago, former Mountain View high basketball player Destiny Slocom was ending her high school career by being named to the McDonald's All American team, a first for any Idaho basketball player. Now a year the accolades continue to pour in for this Idaho athlete.

You might remember last month Destiny was named as the Big 10 Freshman of the year...but that was only the beginning of Destiny living up to her name. Not only is she the top freshman in the Big 10, she is now officially the top freshman player in the nation as she was just named NCAA Freshman of the Year...yep, that's right,

Idaho's very own Destiny Slocum is the best freshman player in all of Division I ladies basketball.

If you've watched any of her games this year, I think you will agree, that this is only the beginning of what could prove to be the most amazing career for any Idaho athlete ever.

Congratulations to Destiny Slocum, Division I Freshman of the Year.....

Watch this ankle breaking move that she put on Northwestern this season
