My name is Kate and I'm addicted to trail mix. This isn't a joke. I really have a problem! And I need your help to break this habit that is out of control!

This week I have consumed 3 different 16 oz bags of trail mix. Yup. Actually between Monday and Thursday, only 4 days, I have eaten 48 oz of trail mix! I have somehow convinced myself that it's okay because I'm training to hike 77 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail this summer. Monday nights when I hike with the girls, I eat trail mix. I eat a lot of trail mix.

The other problem is I have convinced myself that if I don't have to time to grab lunch, I can just eat trail mix as I'm running between meetings. I work out every day at The Lab so it's okay if I eat more than a serving size (1/4 cup), right? Wrong! Trail Mix is great, don't get me wrong. But the quantities I'm eating it in are the problem. My lips are so dry today from shoveling in an entire bag yesterday! And I can't stop on my own. I need to be in handcuffs!

The Solution
I need your help to kick the habit.
I have to quit cold turkey with the only exception being the 7 days I hike the PCT in July.

  • Every Monday Mike will ask me if I've had any trail mix in the last 7 days. I can't lie to his face.
  • If I have caved for the peanut, pretzel goodness, then I have to sing a song of Mike's choosing for Katie-o-kee. I also have to listen to it as it's played back .
  • If I am caught out in public eating trail mix (watch me close on the golf course) then please report me to Mike at mike.kasper@townsquaremedia.com.
  • I not only have to sing Katie-o-kee, listen to it, but I have to pay Mike $7.99 (the cost of a bag of trail mix).

Thank you in advance for your help!!
~Kate
