For many of us who have lived in the Treasure Valley, this is not a surprise (and can be a yearly occurrence) but high water in the Boise River has closed a second section of the Greenbelt.

City officials announced over the weekend that the newly closed section between Loggers Creek Bridge at Leadville Avenue to the Parkcenter Boulevard Bridge would no longer be passable on the Greenbelt.  A detour was was set up.

This is in addition to the section closed on Friday between the Cottonwoods Apartments and the powerline corridor near Gossamer Lane.

The increase in water flow was significant from 1800 cubic feet per second on Thursday to  near 5000 over the weekend.
