The puppy named Charcoal, born with both male and female parts, had been waiting for a home at the West Valley Humane Society in Caldwell, and has finally found one.

The Humane Society says on its Facebook page that the 9-week old puppy was too young to have surgery, and after looking for a foster-to-adopt home they've found one.  Many of the comments remark how cute the chihuahua mix is, and they wished the puppy good luck in finding a home.  I guess it worked.

The Idaho Statesman says the puppy was one of four or five born in a litter at the shelter, and the shelter director said she's only seen three hermaphrodite puppies in nine years at the shelter.  They're rare, but not unheard of.

Regardless, it's great to see the pup get so much love!

They've got other great pups looking for homes at the West Valley Humane Society too, at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell.  Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
