Guiness World Record’s Loudest Cat Purr

A woman from England named Tracy Westwood owns a cat named Merlin and he was just named by Guinness World Records as having the World's Loudest Purr.

His purr measures 67.8 decibels, which is as loud as an air conditioner, and almost louder than a dishwasher. Westwood said that “Occasionally when he’s really loud I have to repeat myself. When you’re watching films you have to turn the telly up or put him out of the room, if he’s eating he’ll purr loudly. I can hear him when I’m drying my hair,”

While Merlin’s purr is always loud, it gets even louder when food is placed in front of him, so when Guinness came to record Merlin’s sounds, Westwood made sure to have a bowl of tuna nearby.

That is one loud ass cat.
