For its root, root, root for the home team....And in this case, its the Boise Hawks. When I saw the article from the Idaho Statesman come across my computer screen today I literally said out loud...FINALLY!! Baseball could be coming to Downtown Boise sooner rather than later.

My entire life I've been a baseball fan. I grew up watching it. My Yankee's seemed to always bring home the titles. I even played it. Starting catcher and played a bit of Third Base for East Boise Little League. I proudly still own my #12 All Star Jersey, which thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure we were supposed to give those back. I along with so many other Treasure Valley Boys and Girls have always had the dream that playing the majors would become a reality. Even though it didn't work out for me, I get to spend those warm Summer Nights, drinking an adult beverage chomping on a hot dog at Memorial Stadium cheering on the Boise Hawks. The managing partners to the Baseball Club that has had the same home since the franchise started have announced this week that a new proposal is out there for a new stadium on 11 acres and would house 5,000 plus seats.

The new stadium at Americana Blvd and Shoreline Drive would cost $60,000 plus and be the new home for the Hawks and potentially a new minor league soccer team. Which in my opinion would be absolutely amazing. The stadium won't be built until the '19 and '20 season, but seeing the Downtown area grow up as much as it is is truly inspiring. Our lil city is getting so big.
