Former Boise State football player Troy Bacon was arrested after police in Sherwood, Oregon say he impersonated a police officer.

Police said an officer came up on two cars parked alongside a road on March 22. The officer said a man, later identified as Bacon, was yelling at a female driver.

When the officer stopped to check on the situation, Bacon told him that he was an off-duty officer and displayed a badge showing the title "Junior Probation Officer," police said. Bacon reportedly told the officer that he had pulled the woman over for speeding and reckless driving.

Investigators say Bacon was driving a  Dodge Charger which was a rental car and had no emergency equipment or lights.

After an investigation and a grand jury indictment, Bacon was arrested Tuesday morning on a charge of criminal impersonation and booked into the Washington County Jail. Impersonating a police officer is a misdemeanor with a punishment of 30 days in jail or a $1,250 fine. His bail was set at $10,000.

Bacon tweeted this soon after the story broke that there are two sides to every story and don't believe what you hear. It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds.
