An Idaho middle school football team went undefeated this year, but that is nothing compared to what they have done for troops killed in action.

The seventh grade football team from Bear Lake Middle School in Montpelier (southern Idaho) went undefeated this season after not having a football team for the past 13 seasons! The coach, David Lindsey, moved up here from Texas and worked really hard to bring the team together and teach the boys to have respect and to be able to honor something bigger than themselves. Lindsey served in the military and came up with the idea of having the boys honor fallen soldiers by putting a USA flag sticker on the back of their helmet with a name on it. Each player has a different name of a fallen soldier. The coach also asked the players to learn the story of the hero on their helmet. It's an amazing story and it's catching on with other sport teams in the district. Hopefully it catches on with every team in the United States.
