This is a huge weekend for football fans.

It's opening weekend for the rest of the NFL (after last night's kickoff between the Packers and Seahawks), there are big college games already and it's only the second week of the season, and just cuz!  Football fans don't need huge games to sit in the recliner and enjoy a bucket of wings.  We just love football.

The Colts visit the Broncos on Sunday Night Football.  Peyton Manning's old team versus his new team and all of those story lines.  Anyone have a #18 Colts jersey then you bought a Broncos jersey when Peyton transferred?  Me too.  I fought it, then bought it.

The 49ers are at the Cowboys Sunday afternoon.  No pressure, but if the 49ers lose that one they may be kicking themselves later in the season when the NFC playoff picture is starting to take shape.  Just sayin'.

In college football, there's a huge game Saturday night between Notre Dame and Michigan.  It's huge because it's the last time the two teams are scheduled to meet in the regular season.  It's in South Bend, and it will be loud.

And of course the big Boise State game!  The Broncos host the Colorado State Rams Saturday night, and the tailgating will start at what, 8am?  Have fun.  And Saturday will not be the day for a leisurely drive past the stadium.  There will be tons of traffic and parking will be at a premium, so pack your patience along with your foam fingers.

There's lots to look forward to this weekend, including the chips and dip, and maybe a beverage or two.  Enjoy!
