This is a first.  And a whole different level of evil as far as I'm concerned.  Somebody took a cute little five-week-old kitten and glued their paws to the pavement on a busy street while traffic turned, swerved, and dodged this poor little animal.

This horrendous crime occurred on Silverton Road in our neighboring state of Salem, Oregon.  Fortunate for this kitty who was doomed from a guaranteed death, a man named Chuck Hawley was driving by watching vehicles swerve erratically to miss something that was in the middle of the road.  It was approximately 7 o'clock in the morning and still kind of dark outside.  At first, Hawley thought it was a bag or sack of some kind.  Then he saw something that he thought looked like some kind of kitten emoji.  That's when the double take took place and he realized... 'That's a real, live kitten'.

According to KTVB, Hawley slammed on his brakes, stopped in the middle of the road and attempted to rescue a cute little grey and white kitten.  Other drivers honked as they went by not knowing what was going on and this little kitten was shaking like crazy from fear and the cold.

Hawley noticed something very odd about this situation.  This little kitten wasn't just sitting in the middle of the road.  It was intentionally put there and her paws were purposely glued to the ground to ensure she couldn't escape.  Hawley was able to peel her back paws off the pavement fairly easy but the front paws wouldn't give.  She was glued there pretty good.  So Hawley chipped off part of the road and took the kitten with him to the Silver Creek Animal Clinic where they were able to completely clean up the small kitten and get her into good shape.

Sometimes you feel that God or whatever you believe in is speaking to you and this was one of those situations.  Hawley was just talking to his wife about adopting a new dog or cat when this happened.  They've since taken in this small kitten and named her STICKY.  They thought about naming her LUCKY but STICKY seemed to fit better.  Hawley's wife started a Facebook Page for STICKY which already has more than 9,000 followers.

Authorities are looking into where STICKY came from and most importantly, who glued this helpless kitten to the middle of the road.  There's a special place in hell for these type of people and I can only hope that they find this guy or girl asap and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
