The Eagle High Mustangs, ranked No. 1 in Super 25 softball, completed a perfect season by winning the 5A state title over the weekend.

Pitchers Bradie Fillmore and Autumn Moffat combined for a no-hitter in a 5-2 victory against Rocky Mountain in the state championship game.

The title game came hours after Eagle completed its semifinal victory in extra innings in a game suspended the day before by rain. That was a pitcher’s duel between Fillmore and Coeur d’Alene ace and UNLV signee, Bre Burke.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the teams were scoreless after seven innings, but Moffat had an RBI single to break the deadlock in the top of the eighth and Fillmore worked out of trouble in the bottom of the inning to seal a spot in the title game. Coeur d’Alene had two on with two outs before Fillmore made a diving catch of a popup and got two ground ball outs.

Moffat then threw two scoreless innings to secure Eagle’s second consecutive state title and a 29-0 season.

Congratulations girls! Your hard work paid off!
