I know we've all been hearing about the craziness that is the Zika virus.  The possible birth defects the disease can cause are heartbreaking and scary.  Could it come to Boise? 

The short answer is, no.  The virus itself is carried in "tropical climates" by mosquitoes, and public health official say Boise's climate is not conducive.

There are cases inside the U.S., so if you're going to be traveling, it's worth understanding the risks and best ways to avoid contact.
