A local Boise company just received a grant for over $50,000 to keep their 30 plus employees.  This means one thing for the Bigelow Tea plant in Boise..it's been a very good week. As one of the largest plants in the Treasure Valley for teas that are distributed across the USA, Bigelow will continue packing products from the Boise Location. The Workforce Development Training Grant works as a payback grant given to company as a refund for the money spent in training new workers. According to the Idaho Department of Labor Bigelow Tea's pay will increase now to $18.51 which is a nice bump from the unstated current wage.

Bigelow Tea in Boise and other workforce around the country qualify for grants like this because employees skill sets become obsolete  and new production processes begin. For more details on the new grant giving to Boise's Bigelow Tea factory read the Idaho Statesman's article HERE.
