It's always fascinating when a new Star Wars movie comes out.  Some of the harshest criticism from force fans is that the new movies are too funny, taking away from the spirit of the originals. That's why they've reportedly brought in Ron Howard to re-shoot 70% of Solo.  The original version of the film was compared to being the Guardians of the Galaxy of the Star Wars franchise. We'll get to see if for ourselves when the movie opens in the Treasure Valley next week.

If you've been unimpressed by the new movies like The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story but love the original trilogy you've got to mark your calendars for Saturday, September 22! The Boise Philharmonic has announced they'll be performing Star Wars: A New Hope, the first ever Star Wars film, live in concert with guest conductor, Ron Spigelman.

If you've never had a chance to see the Boise Philharmonic play a concert like this, you're missing out! They strip all of the music out of the soundtrack to the original movie, leaving just the dialogue in the film playing on a giant 40 foot screen in the concert hall.  All of the music you hear as the movie plays will be performed in real time by the orchestra.  It's a really cool thing to see come together!

There are two performances of the movie soundtrack: 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $45-$90 and can be purchased HERE.

The local orchestra is no stranger to these types of performances.  They did a similar performance of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone last year.  If you want to check out what it takes to pull off one these incredible performances, check out our interview with Harry Potter conductor, John Beal!
