There's a fast food restaurant on South Broadway in Boise, and another on West State St. that some say is the healthiest in town.  And here's why.

They've kind of flown under the radar with it, but Taco Bell has gradually become one of the healthiest fast rood restaurants around.

Food Beast says they've cut out artificial ingredients and over-hauled the menu to offer more healthy choices over the past couple of years, and people are noticing.  The Crunch Wrap Supreme is still there if you feel like being bad, but Taco Bell is trying to attract healthy foodie-types too with higher-protein, lower-sodium options created by their own dietician.  Does every fast food chain consult a dietician?  They might now.

Taco Bell still has the Cheesy Double Beef Burrito, and the Volcano Burrito so there are no worries about them abandoning grease and calories completely. They're just expanding.

Kids usually love fast food, and now health-conscious moms that are usually just along to pay the bill, can eat something too.  So there's that.  And the new healthy options put a stop to the rumor that healthy food is always more expensive, right?  If Taco Bell has found a way to create healthier choices for three bucks, maybe grocery stores will take notice too.
