It's considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in world and it's taller than Niagara Falls. If you have never seen it, maybe it's time to take the short drive to Shoshone Falls....and this weekend the weather will be perfect to take the trip to Twin Falls

I'm a geek for Shoshone Falls. I admit it. I watch the live cam every year, watching for when the most water is running over the falls to give people the most spectacular display....then I relay it to you so that you can see it and share with all your friends. Take it from me, it really is one of the wonders of Idaho and a must see for everyone who lives here.

Right now, there’s an amazing water show happening at Shoshone Falls. Snake River  flows over the falls are peaking at around 15,000 cubic feet per second. According to the The Bureau of Reclamation you can expect to see high-water releases over Shoshone Falls to continue for the rest of April, and into May. Water levels will gradually slow as farmers begin irrigation.

Now through early July is the best time to view the raw power of Mother Nature, when run off from a good snow year in the Southwestern mountains is high.  I've been watching the live camera of the falls for the past few weeks and in March, the water really started to increase over the falls as weather warmed and rain began falling in some of the mountain areas. Now a month later, it's roaring. You can also check out the live cam from Shoshone Falls below.

It's a very easy trip from Boise. Located just outside of Twin Falls, it will take a little over two hours to get there. Before making the drive you want to make sure that you won't be disappointed by the water flow click on the link below and get a map from Boise to Shoshone Falls too.
