The Annual Emmett Cherry Festival kicks off June 15th thru 18th and the local crop is looking good!

Last year, organizers had to bring in cherries from Canyon County because Emmett's crop was mostly wiped out by cold weather.

Any local cherries that were available were gone before the festival began, but that's not the case this year.

U-pick at the orchard started on Memorial Day and will run every day until the cherries are gone. You need a ladder at this point to reach the ripe fruit at the top of the trees because all the lower cherries have been picked.

There are a ton of community events planned throughout the four-day Cherry Festival, including a train show, Emmett Lions car show, and cherry pit spit contest.

Lots to do with the whole family! Check out the full list of events scheduled HERE.
