A toy maker has sold out of a hot plush toy.  It's a toy in the shape of the Ebola virus.

The company says on it's website, "Since its discovery in 1976, Ebola has become the T. Rex of microbes. Share the love!"

I'm not kidding.

Whaddya think?  I think a company that makes a profit off of sickness is kinda sick. BUT, in its defense, the company (Giant Microbes) aims to teach people about germs and disease, and they approach the subject from an educational standpoint.  But who is buying these things?  I think my disappointment is in them.

I've spent many years in Dallas, and I gather from my people there that the city overall is business-as-usual even with dozens of people quarantined and under monitoring programs, to see if they develop the Ebola virus after coming into contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, who died from the disease last week.  The quarantine period for many of them ends Sunday, when the 21-day incubation period for the virus will expire.  Then a sigh of relief, that at least one hurdle has been crossed.

My Dallas peeps are rallying around the two nurses who were diagnosed with the Ebola virus, and have now been moved to hospitals in Atlanta and Maryland.  As the ambulance left the hospital last night carrying nurse Nina Pham to the airport to board a plane for Maryland, many of her co-workers lined the ambulance route, and cheered her on.  That's awesome.

The Ebola virus is scary for sure.  Is it too soon for things like stuffed toys?  I'd love to know your thoughts.
