I don't know if I should feel proud or ashamed. The drunkest county in Idaho is the county I grew up in, Lewis County in North central Idaho.  I bought beer in a store for the first time at age 14, but I'm sure that's not the reason Lewis County is the drunkest county in the state

Idahoans drink a lot, especially wine.  According to alcoholism studies from the most recent census, as well as analyses compiled by the Washington Post, Idaho as well as most of the United States is home to way more bars than grocery stores.

Now bars don't equate to how drunk you city or county is, but it is one criteria.  I do see a theme running here.  The two counties that I grew up in, Latah and Lewis are both in the top 10.  The only town locally listed in the top ten would be Mountain Home in Elmore County. Can you blame them, what else is there to do in Elmore county?  Hunting, fishing....hello, drinking goes hand in hand with both.  Besides I don't have much room to talk, remember I grew up in Lewis County, the number one drunkest county in the state.

Thanks to inyourstate.com you can click on the link below and see the entire list of drunkest counties in Idaho and also the criteria that helped figure out which counties made the list .

Congratulations to all of you who helped to make this list possible.
